A Federal High Court in Lagos has dismissed the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission's (FCCPC) request to lift an interim injunction that prevents the enforcement of certain provisions of the Digital, Electronic, Online or Non-Traditional Consumer Lending Regulations (DEON Regulations) 2025. This injunction specifically protects members of the Wireless Application Service Providers Association of Nigeria (WASPAN) from the application of these regulations. The court's decision upholds the current legal standing regarding airtime lending practices in Nigeria.
