A new initiative aimed at enhancing climate resilience and creating green job opportunities has been launched in Zimbabwe, benefiting over 240,000 individuals, including nearly 80,000 youth and children. The US$30 million Adolescents and Youth for a Sustainable Future (AY4SF) project, a collaboration between the Government of Zimbabwe, Save the Children, and the Green Climate Fund, will focus on training young people in sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, and waste management. The project will be implemented in six climate-vulnerable districts over the next six years, empowering youth to lead community adaptation initiatives and participate in climate decision-making processes. This initiative is part of a broader effort to address the impacts of climate change in Zimbabwe, where increasing droughts and extreme weather events have significantly affected local communities.
