The 2026 Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan (HNRP) for Mozambique, as outlined by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, aims to address urgent humanitarian needs in conflict-affected districts across three northern provinces, requiring a total of US$348 million. The plan targets approximately 1.1 million individuals, with a focus on 919,000 people in Cabo Delgado province, classified as experiencing severe humanitarian conditions. As of March 2026, humanitarian assistance has reached about 369,000 individuals, with significant contributions from Food Security and Livelihoods partners, who supported 236,000 people. Additionally, the response included multisectoral support in areas such as Health, Protection, and Education, with a notable involvement of international and national NGOs, while a further $187 million is needed to address the impact of flooding in southern districts.
