President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Mr. Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe for the position of Minister of Power, pending Senate confirmation. The announcement was made by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, who confirmed that the nomination has been officially submitted to the Senate for the necessary screening process. Mr. Tegbe, a resident of Oyo State, brings over 35 years of experience in fiscal and economic reform, having previously served as Senior Partner and Head of Advisory Services at KPMG Africa. His extensive background includes significant contributions to the power sector, particularly in regulatory reforms involving key agencies such as the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission and the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Company. Upon confirmation, he is expected to utilize his expertise to implement vital reforms aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of Nigeria's power sector.
