The Federal Government of Nigeria has sanctioned the demolition and reconstruction of the Carter Bridge in Lagos, with an allocated budget of N548.98 billion. This decision was made after technical assessments indicated that the existing structure is beyond repair. Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, announced the approval on Thursday during a briefing following the Federal Executive Council meeting, which was chaired by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa. The reconstruction is expected to enhance infrastructure and improve transportation in the region.
