The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has released a country brief detailing the food security situation in Armenia as of April 2026. Favorable weather conditions have been observed for the 2026 winter crops, with planting of wheat occurring between September and November 2025. Although soil moisture levels were initially below average, improvements in weather from December 2025 have led to near-average vegetation conditions by early April 2026. The report also highlights that Armenia's cereal import requirements for the 2025/26 marketing year are forecasted to be above average, with a significant reliance on imports from the Russian Federation, while domestic prices for wheat flour have remained stable year-on-year due to the impact of a temporary export ban on key grains.
