FEC Okays $2.99bn Light Rail Projects For Lagos, Kaduna, Kano to Boost Economy

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the allocation of $2.99 billion for light rail projects in Lagos, Kaduna, and Kano, aimed at enhancing economic development in these regions. This decision also addresses a long-standing 20-year dispute concerning the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Terminal 2 (MM2), with Bi-Courtney Aviation Services agreeing to relinquish control of MM1 and writing off a claim of N132 billion. Additionally, the council unveiled a task force focused on power sector reforms and defended the costs associated with road infrastructure projects.
