The Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) has reported that the recent power cuts affecting Lagos and its surrounding areas are due to a significant drop in electricity generation from the Egbin power plant, which has seen a reduction of 614 megawatts. This decrease in generation capacity has directly impacted the overall electricity supply to the region. NISO emphasized that the situation is being closely monitored as efforts are made to restore normal power levels.
