The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies has released a final report detailing the ongoing humanitarian situation in Bulgaria as a result of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The report highlights that nearly 1.3 million displaced individuals from Ukraine entered Bulgaria, with a significant number seeking temporary protection and support. The Bulgarian Red Cross initiated a national campaign that raised CHF 2 million to assist those affected, leading to the implementation of a large cash and voucher assistance project aimed at addressing the immediate needs of displaced persons, particularly during the winter months. As of October 2025, approximately 73,880 displaced individuals remain in Bulgaria, necessitating continued support for their integration into Bulgarian society amidst the ongoing conflict.
