Monday Okpebholo, the Governor of Edo State, has articulated his belief that the people of Edo will support President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 elections, attributing this support to the financial resources being allocated to state governors. In an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, he claimed that Edo State would contribute 2.5 million votes for Tinubu, emphasizing that the populace is mobilizing to ensure a strong turnout on election day. Okpebholo also reflected on the previous election, noting that Peter Obi's victory in Edo was a result of dissatisfaction with the former governor, Godwin Obaseki, and asserted that the current administration's efforts and the financial backing from Tinubu would galvanize voter support. He stated that the unprecedented financial assistance from Tinubu is positively impacting the state and influencing public sentiment in favor of the president.
