Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, announced the resolution of leadership disputes within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following a recent Supreme Court ruling. During a press conference in Abuja, Wike stated that the court's decision invalidated the national convention held on November 15 and 16, 2025, which had produced Kabiru Turaki as the party's national chairman. He emphasized that the ruling has validated the March 29 convention that resulted in Abdulrahman Mohammed and Samuel Anyanwu being appointed as national chairman and secretary, respectively. Wike declared that the Supreme Court's verdict has effectively eliminated any factions within the PDP, reinforcing the party's unity and stability as it positions itself as a credible opposition to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
