Recent findings indicate that inadequate veterinary services, coupled with increasing transportation expenses, are contributing to a significant rise in beef prices in various regions of Nigeria. In the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the price of beef has surged to approximately N8,000 per kilogram, a notable increase from the previous range of N6,000 to N7,000. This escalation in meat prices is tightening supply and exacerbating the financial strain on consumers who are already facing elevated food costs.
