Organised labour, represented by the African Regional Organisation of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC-Africa), has expressed serious concerns regarding increasing inequality and economic challenges affecting the continent. In a statement commemorating International Workers' Day, ITUC-Africa highlighted the alarming trend of wealth concentration among elites, which it termed "vanishing billions," while the majority of the population continues to suffer from economic hardship. The organisation called for urgent action to address the widening gap in wealth distribution and to promote equitable economic policies that benefit all citizens.
