Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, officially introduced Engr. Mustafa Gubio as the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the upcoming 2027 governorship election during a meeting with Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday. Zulum highlighted Gubio's credentials, noting his previous role as Commissioner for Works and Housing, and emphasized that Gubio was selected following extensive consultations with APC stakeholders in the state. Gubio has already acquired the necessary Expression of Interest and Nomination forms, and Zulum had previously endorsed him as his preferred successor. The governor also acknowledged President Bola Tinubu's contributions to the selection process and urged for continued unity among party members in Borno State as they approach the election.
