A report by the Centre for Democracy and Development (CODE) has highlighted a significant shortfall in climate financing for Nigeria, revealing that the country has received only $4.9 billion over the past seven years. This amount falls drastically short of the estimated annual requirement of $177.7 billion to effectively address climate-related challenges. The findings raise concerns regarding governance and the management of climate funds, as the disparity between the funding received and the actual needs could hinder Nigeria's efforts to combat climate change and its impacts.
