The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged the Federal Government to take immediate action to alleviate the economic difficulties faced by Nigerian workers. In a statement released on Friday in conjunction with the 2026 International Workers’ Day, the NHRC highlighted that escalating fuel prices and transportation costs, along with other systemic issues, are exacerbating poverty levels among the workforce. The commission emphasized the need for comprehensive measures to address these challenges and improve the living conditions of millions of Nigerians.
