Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced a N50,000 relief package for workers in the state, aimed at alleviating the economic pressures faced by employees in May. This initiative was revealed during the 2026 Workers’ Day celebration at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, where the governor, represented by Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, emphasized the importance of supporting workers across various sectors. The additional payment will be included in the May salaries of all workers, regardless of their grade, and will be subject to further review in the coming months. Sanwo-Olu highlighted the government's commitment to enhancing workers' welfare and ongoing infrastructure development, while also addressing the need for improved security measures to foster a safe working environment.
