The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Bauchi State Council, has formally requested that the state government develop a structured plan to address the payment of outstanding gratuities owed to retired civil servants. This appeal was made during the 2026 International Workers’ Day celebration, which was co-hosted by the NLC and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) in Bauchi. The union emphasized the importance of improving workers' welfare and ensuring that retired employees receive their due benefits in a timely manner.
