An IT consultant has highlighted that artificial intelligence (AI) is set to become the most significant cybersecurity threat in Nigeria within the next five years. According to Adedoyin Adedeji, managing partner at BlueRave Ltd, AI technology will allow cybercriminals to identify and exploit vulnerabilities in systems much more rapidly than before, potentially within hours. He warned that AI could facilitate the creation of deepfake audio and video content, which could be used in sophisticated scams targeting individuals and institutions alike. This development underscores the urgent need for enhanced cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive information and infrastructure in the country.
