Alhaji Umar Ajiya, the former Chief Financial Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC), has been selected as the consensus candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Sokoto East Senatorial District for the upcoming 2027 general elections. This announcement was made on Saturday by Nasiru, the Chairman of Ajiya's campaign team, the Ajiyan Sokoto Coordination Committee. Ajiya's candidacy is expected to play a significant role in the APC's strategy for the forthcoming elections in the region.
