The Delta State Police Command has officially refuted claims that its officers shot a civilian in Oviore, Orerokpe. In a statement released on Friday in Asaba, Police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe described the allegations as false and misleading. He clarified that on April 30, a surveillance patrol team from the Orerokpe Division was conducting routine operations at the time of the reported incident. The police have urged the public to disregard the misinformation circulating regarding this matter.
