The humanitarian situation in Lebanon has deteriorated following the extension of a ceasefire on 17 April, with ongoing hostilities resulting in further civilian casualties and significant challenges for humanitarian access. As of 30 April, over 119,000 individuals are residing in collective shelters, while many others remain displaced in informal settings due to ongoing insecurity and infrastructure damage. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reports that approximately 1.24 million people, or 24 percent of the population, are projected to face acute food insecurity between April and August 2026, exacerbated by rising prices and declining incomes. Additionally, the humanitarian response remains critically underfunded, with only 38 percent of the required resources available, jeopardizing the delivery of essential services and assistance to those affected by the conflict.
