Build-A-Bear has initiated a recall of approximately 36,000 Heart-Warming Hugs Bears, which includes around 520 units distributed in Canada. The recall was prompted by concerns regarding a zipper that may detach from the bear's pouch, posing a potential risk of injury or death to young children. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on Thursday, emphasizing the seriousness of the safety hazard associated with the affected stuffed animals. Consumers are advised to stop using the bears immediately and follow the instructions provided by Build-A-Bear for returning or exchanging the product.
