A support group of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has publicly criticized the ongoing leadership crises within the Labour Party (LP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), coinciding with anticipated defections of prominent opposition figures to the NDC. A viral image shared by the group depicts a man in traditional attire offering a lifebuoy to a drowning figure, symbolizing the challenges faced by the LP, which is currently divided between factions led by Julius Abure and Lamidi Apapa. Despite various court rulings aimed at resolving the leadership disputes, the LP remains fragmented, complicating its preparations for the upcoming 2027 general elections. Additionally, reports indicate that former Kano governor Rabiu Kwankwaso and LP's 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi are set to join the NDC, following endorsements from stakeholders across Kano State, signaling a potential shift in the political landscape.
