In a statement made by UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, the organization highlighted the critical role that media workers play in society and the dangers they face. This warning comes in anticipation of World Press Freedom Day, which is commemorated annually on May 3. Reports indicate that approximately 330 media professionals have been targeted globally, underscoring the perilous conditions under which they operate.
