The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has announced the initiation of a comprehensive psychological and mental health assessment for its personnel, set to begin on Monday, May 4, 2026. This initiative, as stated by police spokesperson Josephine Adeh, aims to enhance the emotional stability, sound judgment, and overall performance of officers both on and off duty. FCT Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of professionalism within the force and warned that senior officers would be held accountable for any misconduct by their subordinates. The assessment will start with junior officers, and senior officers have been instructed to ensure compliance and submit detailed reports to the command headquarters.
