Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), a decision announced during a meeting with political stakeholders on Saturday. The governor's move follows the Supreme Court's ruling that nullified parallel conventions within the PDP, which he indicated has created significant uncertainty regarding the party's leadership and direction. In his statement, Mohammed expressed gratitude to the PDP for its role in his political career but emphasized the necessity of seeking a more stable and effective political platform for governance. The APM's National Chairman, Yusuf Dantalle, welcomed the governor and his supporters, highlighting the party's commitment to integrity and democratic values, and presented Mohammed with his membership card, marking his formal entry into the APM.
