Three individuals have been taken into custody for their involvement in disseminating false and defamatory statements regarding Tony Elumelu, the Group Chairman of United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc. The bank's Group Head of Brand, Marketing and Corporate Communication, Alero Ladipo, confirmed the arrests in an official notice, emphasizing the seriousness of the allegations. The suspects were apprehended as a result of an investigation into the circulation of these misleading claims, which UBA deemed harmful to its reputation and that of its chairman.
