SERAP, Editors Urge FG, Governors to Protect Journalists in Northern Nigeria

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) alongside the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) has issued a call to action for the federal government, state governors, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to take immediate measures to safeguard journalists operating in northern Nigeria. This appeal comes in light of escalating insecurity and human rights violations affecting various regions, including Benue, Borno, Kwara, and Plateau. The organizations emphasize the urgent need for protective measures to ensure the safety and freedom of the press in these areas, where journalists face increasing threats.
