Peter Obi, the former Governor of Anambra State, and Rabiu Kwankwaso, his counterpart from Kano State, have officially joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). A video circulating online captures the moment both leaders received their membership cards during a registration event, with Kwankwaso being presented his card first, followed by Obi. This significant move is part of ongoing political realignments among opposition figures as they prepare for the upcoming 2027 general elections. Earlier in the day, the two politicians met with NDC leaders at the Abuja residence of the party’s National Leader, Seriake Dickson, in what is believed to be a strategic effort to unite opposition forces and form a coalition ahead of the polls.
