The police have taken three individuals into custody regarding allegations surrounding the purported divorce of Mr. Tony Elumelu, the chairman of United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, from his wife, Mrs. Awele Elumelu. In a statement released on Sunday, Ms. Alero Ladipo, the Group Head of Brand, Marketing and Corporate Communication, characterized the rumors as “false” and “defamatory.” The arrests follow the dissemination of these claims, which have been deemed damaging to the reputation of the Elumelu family. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
