Soldiers from Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have intervened in a communal clash between the Agbaka and Anyiase communities in the Guma Local Government Area of Benue State. The deployment of troops, which occurred at approximately 12:10 p.m. on May 1, was prompted by reports of escalating violence between the two groups. Security sources indicated that the soldiers were dispatched from their base in Ukpiam to restore order and pursue individuals fleeing the conflict. The situation remains under close monitoring as efforts to stabilize the area continue.
