A joint taskforce focused on combating illegal mining and protecting the environment apprehended seven individuals over the weekend for their involvement in unlawful logging activities in Suntai Forest, located in the Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State. The operation, which was spearheaded by Superintendent of Police Jamu Emmanuel, resulted in the suspects being caught in the act of cutting down and damaging trees within the protected area. The taskforce aims to address the growing concerns surrounding environmental degradation and illegal resource extraction in the region. The arrested individuals have been taken into custody for further investigation and legal proceedings.
