In 2025, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region experienced significant humanitarian challenges, including ongoing conflict, economic instability, and health crises, which severely impacted children and their access to essential services. UNICEF responded by implementing various lifesaving initiatives across multiple countries. Notable efforts included vaccinating over 12,000 individuals in Algeria against diphtheria, screening nearly 2,720 children for malnutrition in Djibouti, and providing cash support for digital learning to over 15,000 Palestinian children in Egypt. Additionally, UNICEF facilitated the distribution of winterization kits in Lebanon and supported the identification of unaccompanied minors in Libya, while addressing malnutrition in Syria through the provision of essential nutrition supplies.
