Thirteen youths from Cross River State were kidnapped while en route to a Christian conference in Abuja eight days ago. Reports indicate that the captives have endured starvation and physical abuse at the hands of their abductors, who are demanding a ransom of ₦10 million for each individual. In light of the dire situation, the families of the victims have urgently appealed to Governor Bassey Otu for assistance in securing their release.
