FG Unveils Leasing Initiative to Cut Airlines’ Fleet Acquisition Costs

The federal government has announced the creation of a national aircraft leasing company designed to facilitate access to modern aircraft for domestic airlines, thereby reducing fleet acquisition costs. This initiative was revealed by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, following a meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC). The establishment of this leasing company is expected to significantly transform aviation financing in Nigeria, enhancing the operational capabilities of local airlines.
