Jigawa, Kano, and Katsina have been highlighted as the states with the highest prevalence of out-of-school children in Nigeria. UNICEF has emphasized the need for urgent investment in early childhood education to address this pressing issue. Currently, Nigeria is reported to have approximately 18.3 million out-of-school children, which is the highest figure recorded globally. An education consultant from UNICEF's Kano Field Office has reiterated the importance of targeted educational initiatives to mitigate this crisis.
