The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has reported that the humanitarian situation in the occupied Palestinian territory remains critical as of May 1, 2026. Currently, only slightly over 10 percent of the necessary funding for humanitarian operations has been obtained, severely limiting the ability to provide essential services. In Gaza, the recent killings of two NGO workers have led to the suspension of vital health and water services, compounded by restrictions on the importation of necessary supplies such as generators and spare parts. In the West Bank, the year has seen an unprecedented rise in displacement due to demolitions, with Israeli forces and settlers reportedly killing four Palestinians, including two children, in late April, while settler violence continues to threaten educational access and community stability.
