The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has issued an agrometeorological early warning bulletin for Yemen covering the period from May 1 to May 10, 2026. The bulletin highlights the risk of unusual heavy rainfall, particularly in the Central Highlands, which may lead to flash flooding and significant damage across various sectors. Forecasts predict intense rainfall of up to 150 mm in areas like Dhamar and Ibb, while the Wadi Zabid region faces a high flood risk. Additionally, the bulletin warns that rising temperatures and waterlogging could adversely affect agricultural production, livestock health, and rural infrastructure, necessitating proactive adaptation strategies to mitigate potential impacts.
