Broadcaster Hamzat picks Oyo Accord gov nomination form

Oriyomi Hamzat, a prominent broadcaster from Ibadan, officially acquired his expression of interest and nomination forms for the governorship race under the Accord Party on Monday at the party's secretariat in Yemetu, Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State. Following the completion of the formalities, he addressed his supporters, emphasizing that his political journey had transitioned from mere intention to active pursuit, stating that "work has started" on his governorship ambition. Hamzat, who announced his candidacy on January 19, 2026, attributed his decision to run in the 2027 elections to divine intervention and the counsel of his advisers. He also highlighted his early mobilization efforts, which included providing transportation support for supporters attending the event, showcasing his organizational capabilities and grassroots influence, particularly through his work with Agidigbo FM.
