The Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled a hearing for May 28 regarding a lawsuit aimed at compelling the Nigeria Police Force to reopen the investigation into the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad. The suit, filed by the Registered Trustees of Break the Silence Foundation, seeks a mandamus order to ensure a comprehensive and impartial reinvestigation into the circumstances of the singer's death in September 2023. During the proceedings, the applicant's counsel confirmed that all relevant parties, including the Inspector-General of Police and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, had been served with the necessary documents. The court had previously granted the organization permission to pursue the action and allowed for substituted service on the police commissioner, highlighting the ongoing public concern and calls for accountability surrounding Mohbad's death.
