The World Health Organization has released a Public Health Situation Analysis for the Syrian Arab Republic, highlighting the ongoing humanitarian crisis following the regime's collapse in December 2024. Continued hostilities in various regions are exacerbating displacement and access challenges, with nearly 300,000 individuals crossing into Syria from Lebanon since April, adding to the 1.6 million refugees who have returned since the regime's fall. The report indicates that over 13 million people require food assistance, while 12 million lack access to clean water, and nearly 13 million need healthcare support. Additionally, significant internal displacement persists, with over 5.54 million people still displaced, and recent flooding has further impacted thousands, complicating recovery efforts amidst a fragile security landscape.
