The Oyo State government has implemented a daily environmental sanitation monitoring and enforcement system aimed at improving cleanliness and public health throughout the state. During a press briefing marking his first 100 days in office, Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Ademola Aderinto, announced the shift from the traditional monthly sanitation exercises to a daily responsibility for residents, supported by ongoing monitoring from environmental health officers. To bolster these efforts, the Ministry has re-engaged 930 personnel for sanitation duties and acquired two new compactor trucks to enhance waste management. Additionally, the launch of the Oyo Soro Soke Environmental Whistleblower platform allows residents to report environmental violations, while the Ministry has also introduced a waste segregation system in government offices and initiated public-private partnerships for modern public toilet construction.
