The founder of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, announced that the party will implement a consensus approach for selecting candidates for the upcoming 2027 general elections. He confirmed that all previously expelled members have been pardoned and are welcome to rejoin the party, emphasizing the need for unity and loyalty among members. Aniebonam highlighted that the party aims to avoid the pitfalls of money politics by prioritizing credible candidates, particularly encouraging women to participate with reduced nomination costs. He also noted that while automatic tickets will be granted to current elected members, the selection of candidates for presidential and other key positions will be determined through consensus, ensuring the best candidates are chosen for the party's future.
