Country: Malaysia Source: European Commission's Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations On 3 May 2026, severe weather – characterised by storms and strong winds – was affecting Johor in the south and Selangor on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, leading to displacement of residents. According to the ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet), 129 people were displaced in Selangor and 77 people were displaced in Johor, with each group being accommodated in a single evacuation centre. Forecasts indicate that, over the next 24 hours, thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds will continue to affect large parts of Malaysia, including both Johor and Selangor.
