The Supreme Court of Nigeria, on 8th May, 2026, delivered judgment in favour of the Governor of Kogi State and another, allowing the appeal and setting aside the decision of the Court of Appeal which had awarded Elder Achuba Simon the sum of over ₦1.07 billion as alleged unpaid salaries, allowances and entitlements.
