Civil society organisations, collectively known as the Civic Centre for Independent Forensic Activists, have raised concerns regarding the $3.5 billion allocated for the rehabilitation of refineries in Nigeria. They have accused the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) of failing to provide adequate transparency in the spending of these funds. In light of these allegations, the activists are demanding the resignation of Bashir Bayo Ojulari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPCL, particularly in relation to a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that they believe lacks clarity and accountability.
