At least eight individuals have been confirmed dead following a suspected cult-related attack in the Aliade Street area of Makurdi, the capital of Benue State. The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday when assailants, believed to be members of rival cult groups, arrived on motorcycles and invaded a residential compound while many residents were asleep. Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers opened fire indiscriminately, leading to the fatalities and causing panic among the local community. Authorities are currently investigating the incident to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the attack and to apprehend those responsible.
