The UNICEF State of Palestine Humanitarian Situation Report No. 47, covering the period from January to March 2026, highlights the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the occupied Palestinian territory. In the Gaza Strip, around 800,000 children remain displaced, enduring unsanitary living conditions exacerbated by pests and a lack of privacy. UNICEF has responded to the critical water shortage by providing safe water to 1 million individuals, including 470,000 children, through water trucking initiatives. Additionally, in the West Bank, the report notes that 1,700 Palestinians, over 750 of whom are children, were displaced due to settler violence and access restrictions, with more than 530 incidents recorded in the first quarter of 2026 alone. UNICEF and its partners have also delivered vital protection and mental health support services to over 15,000 individuals, including nearly 8,000 children.
