The Lagos State government is preparing to introduce a state-issued driver’s licence aimed at enhancing road safety and order within the metropolis. This initiative is being developed in collaboration with the federal government, as announced by the state’s Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, during the 2026 annual ministerial briefing. The launch of the driver’s licence is part of the ongoing efforts to improve transportation management and ensure compliance with road safety regulations in Lagos State.
